Defendant settles with HKW’s client in race discrimination and retaliation matter for $150,000 after only three months of litigation. Doug Kertscher and Jenny Calvert lead the HKW team.

Jury rules in favor of HKW’s client in Pregnancy discrimination matter.

This leads to eventual settlement resulting in payment of over $370,000 to HKW and its client.  Doug Kertscher, Julie Burke and Travis Cashbaugh lead the HKW team at trial.

Doug Kertscher serves on the keynote panel at the Real HR Society for Human Resource Management Atlanta Symposium, speaking on the topic: “Litigation Looking Glass: Employment Law Cases Studies…Seeing the Plaintiff’s and Defendant’s Perspective.”

Cobb County Superior Court awards HKW’s client summary judgment in employment and breach of contract matter. Doug Kertscher and Jenny Calvert lead the HKW team.

Arguing on behalf of Impact Products in defense of a patent infringement suit filed in the US District Court for the District of Delaware by Rubbermaid Commercial Products, Steve Hill and Vivek Ganti obtained a very narrow claim construction of the patent in question.

After the end of two hours of oral argument, the Court announced the ruling in favor of Impact from the bench.  With this narrow claim construction, Impact expects to obtain a summary judgment of non-infringement, or a settlement dismissing the suit.
